The Great Coffee Caper: Why I Swore Off Online Ordering (For a Week)
The Caffeine Craving Strikes
We’ve all been there. It’s early morning, the sun is barely awake, and your brain feels like it’s powered by dial-up internet. Yep, it’s a caffeine emergency. On this particular morning, I decided to embrace the future and order my coffee online. “How convenient,” I thought, smugly picturing myself sipping my latte while others queued like caffeine-deprived sheeple. Oh, the sweet naivete.
The Case of the Missing Digit
I downloaded the app, browsed their surprisingly extensive menu (who knew there were that many ways to brew coffee?), and finally, triumphantly, placed my order. “Your coffee will be ready for pickup in 15 minutes,” the app chirped. Easy peasy. Except, when I arrived, my name was nowhere to be found on the pick-up screen. I loitered awkwardly, hoping my latte hadn’t been kidnapped by a rogue barista. That’s when I saw it – the phone number on my order confirmation was off by one digit. ONE DIGIT!
