We all have those weird little things tucked away in our brains, right? Facts, figures, and jingles from decades past that refuse to be forgotten. For some, it’s state capitals or the quadratic formula. For me? It’s my childhood phone number.
The Childhood Phone Number I Just Can’t Forget
Picture this: ten-year-old me, sprawled on the living room floor, attempting to teach our golden retriever, Sparky, to fetch the cordless phone (ah, the ’90s!). The number, a string of seven seemingly random digits, was permanently etched into my brain through sheer repetition. I dialed it to call my best friend across the street, to pester my grandparents, and even (mortifyingly) to “accidentally” dial my crush.
Fast forward twenty-something years, and guess what? That number, untouched and unused since we moved away, still springs to mind as easily as my own name. It’s utterly useless information now, a relic of a bygone era of rotary phones and busy signals. But still, it persists!
