My Thumb Was Anything But Green
Let’s be honest, I’m not exactly known for my nurturing skills. My ideal weekend involves takeout and binge-watching, not tending to delicate flora. So, when my well-meaning friend gifted me a houseplant – a cute little ZZ plant named Zephyr – I accepted with a smile that was equal parts polite and panicked.
Zephyr was supposed to be low-maintenance, practically thriving on neglect. I, however, took this as a challenge. I managed to underwater, overwater, and even accidentally relocate him to the dark depths of my closet (whoops!). Through it all, Zephyr persevered, teaching me some valuable lessons along the way.
Lesson #1: Plant Resilience and Why It Matters
Remember that whole closet incident? Yeah, that was a dark time. Literally. I found Zephyr a week later, wilted and drooping like a sad, green comma. I was sure I’d finally managed to push him past the point of no return. But after some emergency sunlight and a pep talk (don’t judge, we all talk to our plants), Zephyr bounced back.
